True love never dies…

The career of a handsome young Italian singer, and ultimately his life, is tragically cut short in January of 1967 as the result of an apparent suicide when his soulmate finds his dead body in their hotel room in Sanremo, Italy during the famous annual music festival.  

Ciao Amore Ciao showcases the life of Italian music icon Luigi Tenco, from his childhood to becoming a star in the 1960s all the while maintaining relationships with his record executives, his family, his friends and his lovers.  Romance, culture, music, celebrity parties and Italian cuisine are the backdrop to this moving story about the compelling life of a sexy, brooding and sultry talented singer-songwriter who was a regular on RAI TV and a favorite subject of the famed Italian paparazzi’s cameras.   Luigi Tenco recorded many hit singles and LPs as her rose to fame on the 1960’s music scene.

This period piece is a rollercoaster of emotions and events in Luigi’s life from a simple childhood in Genoa 1950s to stardom in Rome 1960s.  We end on Luigi’s final electrifying performance at the San Remo Music Festival where he and his romantic and musical partner Dalida sing his song Ciao Amore Ciao to an adoring audience.
